Obtaining Reverse Cell Phone Lookup Free Service

By Jerrica Effron

Is there really such a thing as a free reverse cell phone lookup online? At one point or another, we have had our share of experiences wherein we find a site online that claims to offer so-called free services or products but in they end, we realize it's not really for free. Is the situation the same with cell phone lookups?

First and foremost, let us understand the meaning when we say phone number lookup. Basically, we run a "reverse lookup" service to if we have a residential phone number we do not know and we want to find out details about the name of the owner of a phone number and the address. This type of service can be very beneficial in many situations. For example, in the digital age when it is easy to delete a contact list information by accident, or if you have a number you want to verify before making assumptions and making wrong calls. On the internet, there are many websites that could return residential, business and toll-free phone number lookups for free.

The problem with free online reverse lookups is that they may not be complete. You may experience running a reverse lookup for a cellular phone, and these free sites and directories cannot return information about them. In the same way, these free online reverse lookup services also do not have in their database a list of fax numbers because these are only held by carriers and telecommunications companies. Can you find these information, and are they for free?

The good news is that there are websites that gives free online reverse lookups, but the bad news is their database is very limited. Access to a large database complete with landline numbers, cellular numbers, fax and unlisted numbers are not free. These reverse look up services online charges a certain amount to their subscribers because they are also paying mobile operators and carriers for access to some of these information. They also go through all the trouble of compiling all of these data together. Companies have different payment schemes: Some would allow you to do any number of queries for a reasonable fee; others are very minimal but only one-time lookups are allowed. The information is so extensive about a number that it could include the phone owner's details, address history (in case you have tried changing address while registered on that number), carrier details and phone connection status.Depending on the company, the information they hold may slightly differ. The most common are cellphone numbers, residential phones, business phones, toll-free number and pager numbers. They also claim that your queries are guaranteed confidential and legal.

There are also other reverse lookups that cover more extensive personal information such as background checks and background reports, bankruptcies, liens, public records databases including births, deaths, marriages, divorces and adoptions, sex offender records, police records, among other information. These sites operate similarly, they offer these specific types of information for a certain amount of fee. Note however that as part of your cell phone lookup site membership, you cannot have access to these information.
